Psy-Trance icon & HOMmega label boss Eyal Yankovich has died

RIP Eyal Yankovich.

Eyal Yankovich, a DJ, music lover, label owner and beloved Psy-Trance figure has passed away.

Eyal Yankovich’s label HOMmega confirmed the death in a touching statement on Facebook. He died on Tuesday October 10.Β The cause of the death was not disclosed.

“It is with infinite sadness and great shock that we have to inform you that Eyal Yankovich, the beating heart of HOMmega, has passed away this morning. We will reveal more details when it is possible. For now, we ask everyone to respect his family and friends and let us all mourn and get over this horrible shock and adjust to this new reality.”

Home toΒ genre-defying, top quality music, Eyal’s forward-thinking HOMmega imprint is one of the longest living Psy-Trance labels and recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, hosting events worldwide. The go-to label for all that is Psy-Trance, HOMmega’s artist roster includes Infected Mushroom,Β Astrix, Freedom Fighters, Juno-Reactor, Vertical Mode, Animato, just to name a few.

Tributes have already started to pour in for the music pioneer.

Astrix called Eyal “a man who loved music with all his heart and dedicated his life to it,” in a tribute posted on Facebook. Infection Mushroom wrote: “R.I.P our brother and my best friend. Things will never be the same,” and Freedom Fighters posted: “You are a legend and your legacy will forever be here. I love you from the bottom of my heart. I’m lost for words.”

John OO Fleming praised Eyal’s influence on the scene, “Eyal was the true driving force that put Psy-Trance on the map, he’s been working tirelessly and fighting hard over the past 25 years to push Psy to all corners of the world, and I feel happy that he saw the rewards of his work and achieved this.”
