Firing up the scene since 2009, Aly & Fila’s record label Future Sound Of Egypt has produced over 500 records and continues to thrive.
“We felt it would be great to start our own record label to showcase talents of up and coming producers, as well as the more established artists,” Aly & Fila told Trance Project in an exclusive interview.
“Our philosophy is always to release quality music, that has been the way since the birth of the record label in 2009.”
500 releases later, the label is going stronger than ever and we caught up with the duo to talk about the success of Future Sound Of Egypt. Check out the interview below!
After 500 releases, Future Sound Of Egypt is still going strong! Why do you think FSOE has been so successful?
Thank you for your kind words, our philosophy is always to release quality music, that has been the way since the birth of the Record label in 2009. As the years have gone by, we have released more and more releases and have added sub labels under the FSOE umbrella covering a range of genres: UV, Fables, Clandestine, Parallels, Chill as well as Future Sound of Egypt.
From the amazing producers who have released on our record labels to the FSOE Radio show, worldwide FSOE events and the teams around us, plus the support of the public have all massively contributed to the growth of FSOE.
What prompted you both to start the FSOE label all those years ago?
The FSOE radio show had started in 2006 and we were receiving so many great tracks from many different producers, that we felt it would be great to start our own record label to showcase the talents of up and coming producers, as well as the more established artists.
It fitted well to start our sub label on Armada as we were already releasing some tracks on the major label, plus it also gave us a home for our Aly & Fila project.
In your eyes what has FSOE contributed to the Trance music scene as a whole?
We wanted to help keep the Trance scene growing throughout the world with the record label releases, FSOE Events, FSOE Radio Show, and the social media boom has also helped the scene grow. We love to see all the various Trance Families worldwide, it’s such a great community, it’s amazing to see and we cannot wait to see everyone again when it’s safe to do so.
With a huge and influential back catalogue, are you still just as eager to seek out and sign new artists that fit within the FSOE formula?
That has always been our mandate since day one; to discover new artists and help give them a platform to express their talents, as well as working regularly with the more established artists.
If you were stuck on a desert island, which FSOE records would you have to have with you?
Our FSOE back catalogue, hard to narrow it down as there are so many releases that we love!
What do you hope for the future of Trance music?
That the scene continues to grow and thrive which it will 100%! From the fans to the artists, record labels, promoters of events and festivals, Trance has an amazing future and we are very proud to be a part of it.
Now that FSOE has hit 500 releases, you’re releasing the ‘FSOE 500 Remix Series’ that finds some of the biggest names in Trance remixing past tracks from the impressive FSOE catalogue. What inspired the idea of this collection?
As a team, we decided that we would go through our back catalogue and choose 10 tracks that we could have remixed as part of a FSOE 500 Remix Series. It was extremely hard to narrow down to 10, as there are so many amazing releases from over the years.
We liaised with the artists of the original tracks to see who could potentially officially remix the tracks. We are very happy with the outcome!
What’s next for Future Sound Of Egypt?
We have many forthcoming plans which will all be revealed when possible, thank you to everyone for their continued support. Thank you for the opportunity and big thanks to everyone at Trance Project and their followers for the support of not only us, but also Future Sound of Egypt. We hope to see you live as soon as possible!
