ASOT 700 Sydney Artist Interview: Omnia

Without doubt the most exciting and fast rising name to emerge from the progressive & trance scene is young Ukrainian DJ / producer Omnia! Earning a spot on the ASOT 700 Sydney line-up, Omnia has transformed himself into a breakout and in-demand producer on a global scale after dropping a devastating sequence of releases that have included several Beatport #1s.

While 2011 was an exciting year for Omnia musically, not even he could have anticipated the massive breakthrough year he’d have in 2012. The catalyst for this was Omnia & Ira ‘The Fusion’ which went on to be one of the biggest tracks of the year across all dance genres, hitting #1 in the Trance chart in April and remaining in the Top 50 positions for over six months.

For the very first time, he will hit the harbour city and join Armin van Buuren at A State Of Trance 700! Here’s what he had to say about the upcoming Sydney show.

Interview

Hey Omnia! How are you? All geared up and ready for ASOT 700?
Hey! All good! Just got a little cold but I’m sure I will recover myself for the show in Australia! And it’s crazy time in studio at the moment.

What are you looking forward to the most about travelling to Australia for the massive celebration tour?
I’m really looking forward to seeing my Australian fans there. It’s going to be my second time in Australia but first time in Sydney, so it’s going to be special for me: amazing country, big city, and the best festival!

What difference has A State of Trance made for you – personally? Have you been a fan of the radio show for a long time?
Sure! I’m a big fan of Armin’s radio-show ever since 2005! So Armin and ASOT definitely made a big influence on me. And it’s a big honor for me to be a part of this festival!

You’ll be playing in Sydney this weekend. Got any special plans for your set? Any exclusives or surprises?
Actually it’s all depends on people. But I can definitely say that ASOT festivals never disappoint! Anyway, let’s see… Sure I’m planning to try some new material I’ve worked on in my studio recently.

You just wrapped up your U.S. tour, playing in L.A., New York and Seattle – how was that experience?
It was amazing. I’m so happy to explore new horizons for my music and meet people all over the world almost every weekend. It was my second time in US and it’s amazing to see such a huge ‘Trance Family’ there! Really looking forward to do even more shows there but right now it’s all about ASOT in Australia!

What do the next six months hold for you both? Your fans will undoubtedly be wanting new music, are there any current tracks in the works?
Yes! They will definitely hear much more music from me this year. It will be quite a variety of music, but with a recognisable handwriting of Omnia! Some exciting collaborations are also coming soon.

Any last words to your Australian fans?
Sure! Honestly I feel really happy and exciting about my show in Sydney! So I can’t wait to see you guys there and I hope we will enjoy the ASOT night together! Thank you!
