We exclusively caught up with Aussie Trance hero Jody 6 for the release of his new single, ‘Crazy Pills’.
Hailing from Brisbane, Australia, Jody 6 has been making waves across the global Trance scene this year, releasing an array of mind-blowing productions on labels such as Flashover Trance, Mental Asylum Records, HTE Recordings and more.
The Aussie Trance hero now lands on John Askew’s ‘Deep In Thought’ imprint with his new smasher, ‘Crazy Pills’, which has already received huge support from artists including Sean Tyas, Ben Gold, Simon Patterson, Daniel Skyver, Ruben de Ronde and the boss himself, John Askew.
“I’m super excited to have ‘Crazy Pills’ out on John Askew’s label, Deep In Thought! After sending it to him, he got back to me and said he loved it and wanted it for ‘Deep In Thought’ and for the VII album,” Jody 6 revealed to Trance Project.
Featured as the closing track of Simon Patterson’s mix on the new ‘VII Vol II’ compilation album, ‘Crazy Pills’ shows just how much power a Jody 6 production can hold!
“Crazy Pills is a concoction of various ingredients I enjoy in Trance. Firstly, it has an uplifting melody. I love Uplifting Trance as it makes you feel euphoric, so I put that in. The second ingredient is a Psy bassline. It sounds cool, especially when you are on the floor with a big system and a Psy bass suddenly drops cleanly in. Thirdly, I put in an acid line. The classic 303 sound gives you a lot of energy as the sound evolves. The last ingredient is a quirky vocal. Sometimes I like it when tracks have unusual memorable vocals. For this one, I thought of what to say and actually got a rapper in America to say the vocal for me twice. Which I then layered together to make him sound even more crazy,” Jody 6 told Trance Project.
