5 trance legends share their best NYE moments

Ah, New Year’s Eve. It’s the one night of the year where you simply have no choice but to party!

From witnessing incredible sets to stealing motorbikes, the Evolve stars reveal their most memorable NYE moments as preparations are well underway for one of Melbourne’s biggest NYE parties.

Evolution Events hope to bring about a new era in the Electronic Dance Music scene. This event calls for dance music lovers from all over the world to gather under one roof for an evolutionary experience, celebrating as one with the people you love to usher in the new year.

Evolve, aspires to unite the efforts of the underground, an effort that is largely unnoticed by the public, but welcoming to anyone who wishes to take a peek so that they may expand their knowledge, love and passion for the music and the people who live for it.

This is the birth of a concept primarily enjoyed in the most exclusive warehouse parties in Europe, a scene which has flourished there for decades, and most certainly has a place here with Australia being one of the primary multicultural, arts and music destination of the world.

To maintain the mystery of this wonderful warehouse party, Evolution will be sending out venue details exclusively via text message in the days leading up to the event.

Tickets available here.

“My most memorable New Years Eve has to be the most recent. I saw 2015 with Open Up 100 in Toronto alongside John Askew. It was a big milestone for me shared with my closest friends in one of favourite cities!”

“I can’t really remember many previous NYE’S due to alcohol intoxication and memory loss with my old age, but I did absolutely love playing at a traditional psy trance party in Goa, India overlooking the legendary Anjuna beach. That was my second time playing there and it’s like nowhere else on earth.”

“Probably the most memorable New Years Eve for me was holidaying in North Goa, India some years ago with my wife Jodie. We had visited Goa many times before and really wanted to return for a Christmas and New Year. We were staying really close to Anjuna Beach and were invited to a private party in one of the many Beach Shacks there. Anjuna Beach is famous for its Psy/Goa Trance and Dance music which is played in just about all of the Beach shacks along Anjuna so for me, the setting couldn’t have been more perfect. We watched the sun setting on the last day of the year and later welcomed the new year in whilst sitting on the sand watching the moon on the green Indian Ocean with throbbing Goa Trance playing in the background! We also watched the sunrise with throbbing Goa Trance in the playing background….haha, Goa is pretty unique and possibly one of the best places on earth to see in a new year, especially if you love Psy Trance! We left the beach in search of our motorbike to get back, but we were so trashed we couldn’t find it…so I just stole one, from behind the beach where the bikes park. I will add that it was not my intention to permanently deprive the owner of it….just to get my wife back to our villa. It was returned later that day, and I even put fuel in it for whoever the owner was… #Karma I did eventually find the Royal Enfield! #winner \o/”

“A few years ago, me and some friends spent NYE in Czech mountains.  After too many drinks, we decided to sledge down the stairs inside the cabin. Carpet was trashed, but we blamed the reindeer which also ran in the cabin.”
