Gabriel & Dresden will start working on their next full-length artist album in January.
The album will be the duo’s first studio effort since 2006’s self-titled debut LP, and they plan on going back to their trance roots, producing song with meaningful lyrics that reflect on the ups and downs of life and the world.
“Melody and emotion are making a comeback and it has us excited!” Gabriel & Dresden say.
Gabriel & Dresden formed in 2001 and quickly gained notoriety for both their productions and DJing, scoring hits such as “As The Rush Comes” (as Motorcycle), “Beautiful Things” (Andain) and “Tracking Treasure Down” just to name a few.
The album will be funded directly by fans via Kickstarter, and the legendary duo are offering fans the chance to be more involved in the album process.
While pledges start at $2, higher fan contributions will get you things like a house party with Gabriel & Dresden, co-write and produce a track with the duo, be part of the advisory board to have your say during the recording process, and they will even come to your house to cook for you and 7 guests!
The Kickstarter campaign has so far drawn over 450 backers and has raised over $45,000.
“With this album we wanted to try something different and make it with a direct connection to our fans, involving them in the entire process of making it. We are extremely excited to have this opportunity to get back in the studio and do what we love,” they said.
With just 11 days to go until the campaign ends, Gabriel & Dresden have already confirmed two vocalists for their album, Meredith Call from Winter Kills.
