20/3/2020 UPDATE: MENNO SOLO SYDNEY CANCELLED, SEE DETAILS HERE
Menno de Jong’s open-to-close farewell show in Sydney will go ahead this Friday at Universal Nightclub.
“No virus can hold us back on witnessing his last set EVER,” Mainstage Events and Universal Nightclub have announced and are taking every precaution to ensure the safety of punters, including limiting the number of tickets sold down to 500.
Ahead of his 6-hour set in Sydney, Menno de Jong has also requested for no selfies with fans during the show as a precaution.
“I sincerely hope you understand, if you would like a photo with me you can still stand in front of the DJ booth and I will smile from over the decks! In fact, it would be my pleasure,” Menno de Jong revealed to fans.
The Trance legend landed in Australia late last week and is in perfect health. He’s already performed two gigs in Perth and Melbourne throughout the weekend and is currently preparing for his final ever shows in Sydney and Brisbane before he hangs up touring for good.
After 20 years in the scene, Menno de Jong will be retiring from touring and producing and has embarked on a series of ‘Menno Solo’ shows across the globe as part of his farewell.
Riding energy, power and bursting with melodic strength, he’s responsible for a range of euphoric gems such as ‘Turtle Paradise’, ‘Guanxi’, ‘Creatures Of The Night’, ‘Tundra’, ‘Any Other Day’, just to name a few.
Menno de Jong has also became known for his much-loved open-to-close ‘Menno Solo’ sets. From Progressive to Uplifting and plenty of classics, his Menno Solo concept shows are filled with hours of mind-blowing music bliss.
Menno de Jong announced his retirement from touring late last year and wrote in a press statement that over time his priorities have changed, and touring as a DJ has turned into an enormously taxing lifestyle that has left limited room for his own personal growth, health and time with family and friends.
His forthcoming Sydney show at Universal Nightclub this Friday will be the ultimate celebration for those who’ve seen him and a last chance for those who haven’t.
“Now that we have reduced ticket sales, we have a very limited amount of final release tickets left…don’t leave it till the end of the next week to secure your ticket as they might be all gone by then!” Mainstage Events have said.
