Longer sets truly showcase oneโs ability to take an entire crowd on a journey.
Since the explosion of Electronic Dance Music across the globe, it can be hard to catch your favourite DJ play a longer set due to the high demand of artists being filled across music festival line-ups, club nights and events alike, providing fans with an hour teaser instead of what could potentially be an incredible three (or five) hour musical journey.
Australian promoters have been more open to the idea of introducing shows that allow extended or open to close sets from International artists โ Neptune Projectโs recent five-hour set in Melbourne and their sunset cruise from start to finish in Sydney was incredible, and Max Grahamโs open to close tour was a hit with fans. Last yearโs Armin Only: Intense Australia tour was a huge success, taking Aussie fans on a 5+ hour journey into music, allowing Armin to tell his full story of the โIntenseโ album. John โ00โ Fleming is also known for playing longer sets, allowing fans to get the true JOOF experience.
In a bid to show Australia the art of playing longer DJ sets, Menno De Jong will play an open-to-close set at Voodoo Sydney on Friday August 21. Early Bird $15 ticket special available only to the first 300 people…don’t miss out Australia.
