The Growth of Genesis White

From Greenwood Hotel to arena-style shows, the growth of Genesis White has been nothing short of phenomenal.

In only three years, what began as an event at Greenwood Hotel in North Sydney, has quickly evolved to become one of Sydney’s largest boutique Trance events, attracting thousands of music lovers each year.

Event organiser, Genesis Events, invited some of the biggest international acts to Greenwood Hotel in October 2013, including Alex M.O.R.P.H., Andy Moor, Ben Nicky, Chris Schweizer, Mark Sixma, Tenisha, and an array of Aussie artists.

Hundreds gathered all dressed in white and partied across four stages. The first of many events had begun: Genesis White was born.

“Previously we were hosting branded Genesis events at the Metro Theatre with international DJs, but the punters were constantly calling the event name by the names of the international acts rather than ‘Genesis’ so we decided to create a concept with a unique theme which would encourage the punters to recognise the Genesis brand, and to make as our flag ship event,” Genesis Events exclusively told The Trance Project.

By 2014, after word of mouth had spread, the white party took over Sydney’s iconic Luna Park at the Big Top for 8 hours of mind-blowing music featuring 12 international acts: Menno de Jong, Max Graham, Alexander Popov, Andy Moor, Norin & Rad, Beat Service, just to name a few.

Last year’s move to the Qantas Credit Union Arena was a big step up, proving its success and the production was quite spectacular.

“Til this day, people are still talking about how amazing the production was at that event and how it felt like a proper winter wonderland,” Genesis said.

With incredible sets from Cosmic Gate, Beat ServiceJerome Isma-Ae, Nick Arbor, Simon Lovell and two stunning performances by Eric Lumiere and JES, Genesis White 2015 was another hit with patrons.

For Genesis, the most important part of the experience is unity. They say that “having everyone dressed in white creates an atmosphere that everyone can immerse themselves in and it emphasises that we are together as one and one with the music.”

Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion will play host to the this year’s exciting edition on Sunday October 2nd (long weekend), and Genesis say that clubbers can “expect an event where no one judges you based on appearance but joins you for a night of pure bliss, where everyone is united together in the name of trance music.”

As for the future of Genesis White, organisers are really happy with where the concept is at right now and would like to keep it exactly where it is for now.

“We like being the best boutique event in Sydney with the best production, so we will work towards continuously exceeding our punters expectations!”

“We can’t wait to show you what we have in store this year.”
