20 trance tracks that have inspired The Thrillseekers over the years

“It’s the genre that I connect the most with on an emotional level, and as a music producer and clubber at heart it just ticks all the boxes for me. Well, it’s really a way of life for me now.” Thrillseekers on trance music.

With countless successes with each and every release, it is no wonder that the legendary Thrillseekers aka Steve Helstrip has rightfully earned the highest respect from trance lovers across the world and with some of the biggest names in the scene today.

We reached out to the trance genius while on tour in Australia last year to talk all things trance and he revealed the 20 trance tracks that have inspired him over the years.

In no particular order…

The Age Of LoveThe Age Of Love – The Age Of Love (Jam & Spoon Mix)

This is where is all began for me. Is it trance? Techno? Who cares, it’s incredible.
Come on, dance with me…

ChildrenRobert Miles – Children

This is what cemented my love for trance (although it was called dream house at the time). Genre defining moment.

OffshoreChicane – Offshore

After Children, this was the next trance record that I bought and the track that inspired me to make Synaesthesia. I must have played this a million times. Well, nearly.

That vocal. Kills me every time.

AnormalyAnomaly – Calling Your Name

BT is probably my all time favorite producer of trance. I could pick 20 of his tracks for this list, but this one holds some pretty special memories. I nearly fell off my chair when I was asked to re record a new version of this with Jan Johnston. Epic.

The World Doesn't KnowTilt – The World Doesn’t Know

Stand out track in many ways. Ultra cool vibe, very cleverly crafted.

Listen here.

System FSystem F – Out Of The Blue

I still remember the first time I heard this. I had to stop the car because I simply could not believe what I was hearing. Don’t like it so much today, but it had a profound effect on me back in the day and inspired me along the way.

BreakfastBreakfast – The Sunlight

When the breakdown starts, I go a little gooey. Trance has the ability to do that that, and this one does it very well.
