Could you tell us a bit about how Projekted Records came about?
Setting up my own record label is something that I have always wanted to do when I first started producing years ago.
I planned on launching it in 2015 but I wanted to finish my degree in graphic design so I could create the artwork and have control over the branding and promotion, to fit in with the style of Trance we are aiming to release.
I think the timing is right for launching the label in 2019, as Trance is getting bigger and better, with so many talented producers out there.
How would you describe the Projekted Records sound?
Old Skool Tech Trance and Uplifting, driving and banging, with a hint of Techno!
What’s the best advice you can give to producers that want to have their tracks released on Projekted Records?
Be original, step outside of your comfort zone and create something that is different from what other producers are making. Create your own style! The likes of Mauro Picotto, Sander van Doorn and Marco V all had their own style of Trance, which made them stand out from the rest.
Above all produce your own music.
What’s the first track to be released under the Projekted Records imprint?
The first track to be released on Projekted records is called “Faces”. This track is a blend of Old Skool Tech Trance. I wanted to create something that sounded like it was pulled off a vinyl record in the late ’90s. It’s bouncy and driving, and features vocal sample from the ’80s movie, ‘The Warriors‘, which I think fits in well with the track.
