The story on how Australia got chosen to host the world premiere of Gouryella

Australia will see the world premiere of Ferry Corsten presents Gouryella this weekend.

In a recent exclusive interview with The Trance Project, Janette Bishara (Totem OneLove) revealed how the booking of Gouryella came about for Atlantis 2016, which kicks off this Friday at All Phones Arena in Sydney.

“By pure coincidence I ended up in a car with Ferry’s manager on the way back to the hotel from Tomorrowland in July last year. I asked him if we could get Ferry to do a Gouryella set the next time we bring him out to Australia and he told me that there was no way it was going to happen… It wasn’t something they were interested in doing anywhere in the world. I told him that I knew the Australian trance fans would love to see that and if they were to change their minds that I should be the first person they call,” Janette revealed.

“It wasn’t until October that they told me that they were going to bring Gouryella to the stage for one year, and only on big events, but the show was going to be ready end of March, which would’ve been after Atlantis! Luckily, we managed to work together with Ferry’s amazing team to bring forward the date and score the world premiere for Atlantis,” she continued.

“Gouryella is an important booking for me because the Gouryella sound is something that has been missing in the scene and I wanted it for us. Australian trance fans are educated, they know trance very very well, you can’t fool them with average line ups. So the pressure is always on to come up with something special.”

Ferry Corsten will take his alias to stages across the world after the launch at Atlantis, and he also shared with The Trance Project on why he chose our incredible country for the world premiere.

“Atlantis is at the right place, and at the right time for me to do this, and what makes it even better is that Atlantis is a trance-only event, which is great, you don’t have many of those anymore. I prefer to introduce Gouryella to people who love it the most, the trance fans, instead of going to a normal festival where you play for people who don’t all necessarily like trance. I really wanted to bring it back to the heart of the scene, and that’s what Atlantis really is.” Ferry revealed.

Gouryella means Heaven in native Australian, so with all those things together – it had to be Australia!” he also added.
