DJ, producer, music lover and beloved Trance figure, Thomas Coastline, has sadly passed away after losing his battle with cancer. He was aged 35.
Well known for his epic warm-up sets at Transmission Festival and inspiring performances across the globe, Thomas Coastline, real name Tomáš Malina had also released many Trance and Progressive gems throughout the years on labels including Black Hole Recordings, Pure Trance, Driftmoon Audio, Interstate Recordings, Redux Recordings and more.
The Czech Trance hero started DJing and producing from the age of 16 and first unleashed music through his Hard Trance alias, ‘Bass Detect’, along with remixes for various Czech dance music groups.
In 2008, he received his first big break when Armin van Buuren supported his track ‘After Hour’ on A State Of Trance, and his follow up single ‘Tears’ captured the hearts of thousands of fans.
Also known for hits such as ‘Love Victims’, ‘Ultralight’, ‘Illusions’, just to name a few, Thomas Coastline will always be remembered as a humble and immensely talented artist.
Tributes have already started to pour in.
“Today the Trance music scene and world suffered a great loss. After couple years long battle against cancer we lost a dear friend, amazing person and a super talented musician. You will be missed brother. Rest in peace Thomas Coastline, my condolences to the family,” ReOrder tweeted.
“Rest in peace, Thomas. You were a warrior like no other. We will miss you… Our heart goes out to the family and friends,” Transmission Festival shared throughout social media.
Darren Porter wrote: “From the first we met your smile, positivity and radiance was brightness in the room. It was a privilege to have played with you, toured with you and to have known you. A genuine talent and amazing person. Transmission was your home and you have the Spirit Of Warrior I was honored to have worked with you, alongside you and to have known you. RIP Thomas.”
