A letter to the Australian Trance Family

Who’s ready for another thrilling year of Trance?

Dear Trance Family,

I’m Miguel aka ‘Mr. Trance Project’, owner and managing editor of Australia’s online trance destination, The Trance Project.

In two years of its existence, The Trance Project (TTP) has published countless articles and features, helping to further promote Australia’s incredible scene to the world. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with our country’s biggest promoters, award-winning record labels, and have worked alongside talented artists including Solarstone, Bryan Kearney, Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, Ben Gold, MaRLo, Ferry Corsten, just to name a few.

Aside from the terrible tragedies our scene has faced this year, I think it’s safe to say that 2015 has been the best year for trance events across the country. The Australian trance scene is growing bigger and better every year, and I want to use this letter to show my appreciation to everyone involved in helping our scene grow this year.

A massive thanks goes to all the dedicated and hardworking promoters and event companies that continue to create amazing trance experiences for us all. Totem OneLove Group, Genesis Events, Trancegression Events, Evolution Events, Finders Keepers Entertainment, Majik Entertainment, Digital Therapy, Revive Events, NuBreed, Sydney Trance, Trance Therapy, Amon Vision, and many more – you all have brought us so many extraordinary events!

FSOE 400 Melbourne, the return of ASOT, Subculture’s epic Aussie tour, the Atlantis concept, Genesis White, ABGT 150, Pure Trance, Extrema 400, Godskitchen and extended sets from Menno De Jong, Neptune Project, Max Graham, The Thrillseekers and John 00 Fleming, were definitely some of the biggest event highlights of 2015. I know 2016 is going to be one of the best years yet!

To our talented artists; DJ’s, producers, and vocalists, thank you for your music and I hope you all continue to follow the passion, that’s within you.

Australia is brimming with trance talent! MaRLo has been dominating the trance floors at major music across the world. Melbourne hero, Exis has seen incredible success this year, touring the country with Stereosonic and Armada Music. Factor B’s inclusion in the Pure Trance compilation made me feel so proud and Pinkque released “Hereafter” a production that touched the hearts of thousands. Australia gave trance a chance this year when MaRLo, Andru Ballota, Sensualise and Digital Dreamerz got inducted in this year’s inthemix50, and on top of their dedicated work with Genesis Events, Thomas Knight & Nick Arbor have been killing it with their productions and sets across the country. 2015 also saw the debut of Elucidus, Australia’s newest trance trio!

One of the main reasons I started TTP was to provide a platform for local artists to help promote their music to the world, and in 2016, I promise to feature all Aussie artists on a regular basis, no matter if you’re a ‘bedroom DJ’, upcoming artist or a popular touring artist, I’m here to support everyone and make 2016, the year of Aussie trance!

Team TMAS, I’m excited for what you guys have planned in 2016, keep up the amazing work – Sydney needs another rooftop session! After recently reaching 2,000 members, there’s no stopping the boys at Trancendence – keep spreading the love of trance! Trance Familia, you should be proud of what you have achieved for Melbourne! All the other Facebook communities, Trance Family Australia, #TIM, ATF, Brisbane Trance Familia and the various Perth pages, I can’t wait to meet you all, I think The Trance Project needs to go on tour in the New Year and experience events in each city…watch this space.

Jano…what can I say? You’ve helped me reach my dream of interviewing two artists that mean so much to me, Paul van Dyk and Armin van Buuren. I will never forget those experiences, and I’m so thankful for having your full support with The Trance Project. Your passion and dedication to trance is truly inspiring, continue to work hard and dream big in 2016!

The creative masterminds behind the production of shows like Atlantis, Pure Trance, Subculture and Genesis White – you blew our minds this year, we can’t wait for what’s in store next year at various events and night clubs.

And finally, party goers, trance lovers and clubbers…without you, there’d be no scene – thank you for supporting all things trance this year. We hope to see many of you not only at the ‘big trance events’ but the local club nights that feature local talent. Coming out to the local shows is still just as important because hey, you never know, the local trance acts you support just one night might make it big!

Australia, you should be proud, and let us continue to grow into a scene all about love and passion for trance music.

Happy New Year trancers x
