Armin van Buuren addressed why he cut his 8-hour planned mainstage set short

He still did manage to perform for just over 7 hours and you can relive the set below.

Untold celebrated its 5th anniversary last weekend and Armin van Buuren was set to perform an 8-hour set at the Romanian music festival.

After performing last year on the mainstage for seven hours straight, the legendary act wanted to beat his record and give the fans an extra hour of euphoric goodness, as part Untold’s 5th year festivities.

Almost reaching eight hours, Armin van Buuren had to cut his extended set short due to inclement weather.

“Ended up playing more than seven hours, 132 tracks, last year was 113, and i wish i could of played longer but the weather gods were not in our favour,” Armin van Buuren revealed in his latest vlog.

The final hour of his marathon performance was to also feature a special vinyl set, but unfortunately wasn’t possible due to on-going rain and production had to pull the plug.

“We had a special DJ booth built right in front of the catwalk, right in the middle, between the fans, where Alexandra Badoi came up with the elevator. So, the idea was to close off the set, and to make it extra special on the night, i was going to do an hour vinyl, but the rain spoiled it.” Armin van Buuren addressed fans during today’s episode of his ASOT radio show.

Despite the bad weather throughout the night, Armin van Buuren and the talented lineup of vocalists managed to deliver a mind-blowing experience, taking fans on an epic musical journey.

During the live performance of ‘This Is What It Feels Like’, Trevor Guthrie, Armin van Buuren and the other vocalists were unperturbed by the downpour and went ahead to the front of the stage to gather with the crowd in the rain, creating an unforgettable moment.

“I must say, seeing ‘This Is What It Feels Like’ on stage with Trevor Guthrie and everybody was a magical moment i will never forget,” Armin van Buuren says.
