Aussie Trance artist to watch: Genetixx

“Trance means everything to us. It is our favorite genre and we listen to it on a daily basis,” Genetixx told The Trance Project.

We recently caught up with Aussie Trance duo Genetixx to talk all things Trance.

When did Genetixx form and how would you describe the ‘Genetixx sound’?

Genetixx: We  first met as chefs working together in a restaurant and found we shared the same passion for dance music. We attended a few raves together and soon became friends. We joined forces in  2015 and came together with our different and at times similar influences to create various ideas of trance music. We have collaborated on tracks together to make a unique sound. We work together with synergy and fast paced thinking to create something we consider to be special.

We came up the the name Genetixx when we came to the realization that we love music so much and the part it has placed in our lives that must be a part of our DNA. We enjoy the for-filling experience of producing and DJ’ing and will continue to do so for many years to come.

We would describe our sound as a mixture of different and all Trance elements and sub genre’s such as Uplifting, Driving, Tech & Psy. We tend to produce on the harder edge of things around 138 to 140 bpm.

You’ve recently released three massive tunes; ‘Worlds Apart’ with Miss LJ, ‘Ascension’ and ‘Storm’ – Where do you both find inspiration to create such mind-blowing productions?

Genetixx: The inspiration behind our productions comes from ideas we both think about in day to day life and translate that into music. Our track ‘World’s Apart’ was inspired by a great love story that everyone has experienced at some point in their life, where they had loved somebody with their whole heart and soul yet something had come in between that perfect love and had caused the lovers to part.

Another track ‘Storm’ was inspired by a massive thunder storm which happened at a local Sydney beach some time back.

‘Ascension’ was inspired by the feeling of euphoria and enlightenment.

How did you know that producing was something that you both wanted to do? What gave you that push and drive to want to be heard by the world?

Genetixx: We have a desire to communicate through the universal language that is music and to help bring happiness to people’s lives who enjoy and appreciate Trance music.

We want to share our musical imagination with everyone. We both know that Trance music is a very powerful sound and our desire is to make people feel emotion, euphoria, joy and a sense of togetherness as we are all connected.

What does trance mean to you both?

Genetixx: Trance means everything  to us as it is our favorite genre and we listen to it on a daily basis. It gives us a sense of joy, happiness and satisfaction and we cant live without it. It has gotten us through some rough times in our lives and also the good times.

What’s the next move for you production-wise?

Genetixx: We have four  new originals to be released late August & we are also working with a few female vocalist around Australia with a few more originals.
