1 year ago today, Trance history was made in Australia

Ferry Corsten made his stage debut of Gouryella at Atlantis 2016 in Australia.

1 year ago today, Ferry Corsten made his stage debut under his classic alias Gouryella at Atlantis 2016 in Sydney. He made Trance history, thrilling thousands of Aussie fans with a breathtaking world premiere performance.

With entrancing breakdowns, epic melodies and back, it was a euphoric experience like no other. Classics were played: ‘Ligaya’, ‘Gouryella’, ‘Tenshi’, and we’ll never forget that incredible moment when Corsten dropped ‘Anahera’.

Ahead of the premiere, Corsten exclusively told The Trance Project he preferred to introduce the stage debut of Gouryella to “people who love it the most, the trance fans.”

“I really wanted to bring it back to the heart of the scene, and that’s what Atlantis really is. Gouryella means ‘Heaven’ in native Australian, so with all those things together, it had to be Australia!” he said.

Atlantis was one of the greatest trance music gatherings Australia has ever seen. Production was spectacular and also featured performances from Aly & Fila, David Gravell, Giuseppe Ottaviani LIVE 2.0, MaRLo and Orjan Nilsen.

This year, Atlantis has been replaced with a new exciting arena event, Istoria, which kicks off this Sunday at Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena, plus a show at Sydney Showgrounds on Saturday March 18. The line-up includes Andrew Bayer, Ben Nicky, Exis, KhoMha, MaRLo, PureNRG and the world premiere of Sander van Doorn pres. ‘P.Haze 1 & 2’.
