Armin on Shivers: “This album was a major step for me into full songwriting”

Throwback Thursday: Rediscover Armin van Buuren’s “Shivers” album

We thought it would interesting to look back on the feelings Armin had back in the year 2005, when his second artist album ‘Shivers’ came into stores.

“This album was a major step for me into full songwriting”, said Armin, when asked about ‘Shivers’.

He was the co-writer on most of the lyrics and also grabbed the opportunity to show his multi/styled production skills. This shows in the list of guest vocalists and producers who worked together with Armin on ‘Shivers’; the famous Dutch pianist and composer Jan Vayne, singers Ray Wilson and Justine Suissa – who also took part in Armin’s first album ‘76’-  are just a few names.

Armin: “Trance will always be the main thing but it brings in different elements when you collaborate with artists. It requires more attention to song structure than instrumental tracks. This is a work I’m extremely proud of.”

Of course the diehard fans will have this one in their cd-player for years already, but for anyone that still has a gap in their Armin collection, this is your chance to get ‘Shivers’  on iTunes here!
