April marked the 2 year anniversary of Evolution Events, one of Melbourne’s premiere Trance and Electronic Dance Music promoters.
Countless highlights and great memories come to mind reflecting upon the past two years of Evolution Events, hosting shows for some of the biggest names in the scene today including Ben Nicky, MaRLo, Shogun, Daniel Kandi, Mark Sixma, Neelix, Tenishia, Will Holland, Super8 & Tab, and they’ve worked with several much loved and respected music brands including, Enhanced Recordings, Pure Trance, Trance Nation, Godskitchen and many more.
In honour of Evolution’s 2 year anniversary, we exclusively caught up with the team just days after the celebration party held at their new weekly club night, Sanctuary Saturdays:

What does the future hold for evolution events?
We intend on continuously pushing the boundaries and precedence set. We want to do things that just blow people’s minds and expectations. In terms of our Sanctuary branding we will be expanding this to more than just a weekly clubbing night but into festival stages. Our most recent event launches resulted in the resurrection of Godskitchen in Australia as well as bringing one of the biggest lineups for Subculture Tour in October. Evo Sessions, our exclusive podcasts for live sets by our internationals, as well as Evo Agency whom we have signed Ben Nicky, Josh Lang, Sensualise, Digital Dreamerz and a few more promising new artists, are just a some of the unique ventures we are expanding into. Everything we do is in the pursuance of building a future for our Evo Family and leaving an everlasting imprint on the trance scene in Australia.
Looking back at the past two years, have you seen many changes in the Melbourne trance scene?
Over the past two years, the trance scene in Melbourne has blown up. There hasn’t been such a momentous rise in the conversions and number of people congregating together for the love of this genre in years. There is a group that you can’t possibly forget to mention that has assisted us with our endeavor, Melbourne’s #TranceFamilia, which was started and successfully achieved the uniting of like minded individuals. Those who have been in the scene years ago completely agree that only now, has there been a radical change in the trance crowd. The people you meet at Sanctuary or other Evolution Events are quite possibly the kindest and most genuine people you will ever meet. This is one of the things we are truly proud to be apart of. It’s an exciting time we live in for trance music in Melbourne and Australia.
